Build your portfolio through hands-on consulting experiences.

The MS in Statistical Practice program prepares data science professionals through in-depth coursework in statistical modeling, analysis, statistical machine learning, and data mining. Students benefit from guided practice through hands-on industry consulting projects that are integrated into the program.
In our unique, cohort-based system, everything you learn in your core courses is integrated through the Statistics Practicum, a hands-on consulting experience with Boston-based organizations where students integrate the theory, principles, and methods with actual practice in the field. Graduates of the program go on to high-demand careers across multiple industries—from consulting to marketing, biotech, economics, education, agriculture, and even the arts.

Hear from an Alumna

“The most valuable skill MSSP taught me was how to flexibly communicate the reasoning behind my analyses, and tailor my words to the stakeholder I’m talking to. When I got my Bachelor’s in statistics, I felt like I was lacking the ability to navigate the messiness of using statistics in the real world, which led me to MSSP for its consulting focus. In textbooks, the problem is already outlined for you and you just have to solve it; MSSP taught me how to identify the problem, communicate it effectively, and then solve it."
