    BU Wheelock alum Takeru Nagayoshi was named the 2020 Massachusetts Teacher of the Year. Nagayoshi (Wheelock’11) has taught English, writing, and research classes at New Bedford High School. Nagayoshi’s career as an educator began when he joined Teach For America (TFA) in 2014. His interest in advocating for education policy and law through an equity lens extends beyond the classroom, as he coaches developing teachers and writes on education issues for local, state, and national publications. He currently works as an adjunct instructor for Northeastern University and as senior customer advocacy manager at Panorama Education, where he partners with schools nationwide to enhance customer engagement and ensure the successful adoption of innovative ed tech in districts.
