    Learn From AI in Education Experts

    Dr. Thomas “TJ” McKenna, Program Director, AI & Education at BU Wheelock, has more than 20 years of experience as a scientist, educator, on‑air science communicator, and faculty member.

    He works at the nexus of policy, practice, and research, designing AI systems for instructional coaching, studying AI‑mediated professional development, and developing AI literacy curricula for educators.

    He is also the author of Making Sense of Sensemaking: Designing Authentic K–12 STEM Learning Experiences (Teachers College Press; NSTA Press, 2025).
